Air Quality Control
Announcement:The City of Omaha has received a second shipment of new, environmentally-friendly gas cans for free exchange. All you have to do is take your old (pre-2009), vented 2- or 5-gallon gas cans to the City's Under the Sink facility at 4001 S. 120th Street any time during their normal business hours (see here for those hours) and they will swap them for brand new cans! Omaha Air Quality Control is the delegated authority within the Omaha city limits for all activities and sources covered under the Clean Air Act and Nebraska Title 129. OAQC issues all Air Construction and Air Operating Permits for applicable sources in Omaha, enforces National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) requirements including asbestos regulations, and ensures compliance with local odor and dust ordinances.
