School Resource Officer (SRO) Squad
In 1995, the Omaha Police Department, in conjunction with local school districts, implemented the School Resource Officer Program. The goal of the School Resource Officer Program is to enhance the relationship between the Omaha Police Department and students, parents and staff of the schools and to promote positive citizenship among youth by utilizing the resources of both the school districts and the Omaha Police Department.
Â
The SRO Squad also includes the Truancy Program and Gang Resistance Education and Training Program (G.R.E.A.T.)
