It is the intent of the Douglas County Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Human Resources (HR) Department to ensure a fair and equitable human resource system that operates in accordance with good management principles and ensures a work environment conducive to the health and benefit of employees and the public.

Human Resources Mission Statement

Per the statutes establishing the Douglas County Civil Service Commission, the following comprises the responsibilities and mission statement of the Human Resources Department.

Under the auspices of the Douglas County Civil Service Commission, the
Douglas County Human Resources Department is responsible for providing
a high level of service in the management of human resources for the management
and employees of Douglas County.

Areas of responsibility include employment, compensation, benefits, performance
management, employee relations, human resources information systems (HRIS),
performance management, equal employment, compliance with employment and
labor laws, employee records management, training and development and the
provision of fair treatment in respect to employee policies and practices."
